Overview

This one-day VIRTUAL symposium designed for the primary care provider will address some cardiac issues in children and adolescents/ This conference will incprporate topics of Kawasaki disease, POTS, cardiac complications of obesity, insomnia in cardiac patients, the link to genetics, ECG clearance, newborn findings and red flags and the impact of AED (automated external defibs) in the community setting.

Objectives

Apply current evidence-based guidelines and consensus/expert recommendations to the evaluation and management of common pediatric cardiac conditions.
Incorporate emerging evidence and therapeutic approaches into general practice in the care of patients with known or suspected cardiac disease.
Employ communication techniques that enhance shared decision-making and collaboration among patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Implement strategies to identify and mitigate barriers to care that contribute to disparities in health outcomes of patients with known or suspected cardiac disease.
Determine when cardiology subspecialty referral is indicated and facilitate appropriate care coordination across healthcare settings.
