Overview

This one-day symposium for pediatricians, family physicians and other healthcare providers will showcase the latest approach, updates and research related to several common patient issues confronted by primary care providers as well as newer and more complex diseases. Our speakers will address health concerns, share cases, and offer guidelines on how to manage the patient. We are excited to present lectures on diabetes testing, management and concrens often raised by patients and families in addition to the technology to test and manage the diabetic patient. In addtion, asthma/diagnostic testing, seasonal allergies, food allergies and delayed and precocious puberty will be discussed.

Objectives

1. Apply current evidence-based guidelines and consensus recommendations to the evaluation and management of common pediatric conditions.
2. Incorporate emerging evidence and new therapeutic approaches into clinical practice when supported by the literature and patient circumstances.
3. Employ communication techniques that enhance shared decision-making and collaboration among patients, families, and healthcare teams.
4. Implement strategies to identify and mitigate barriers to care that contribute to disparities in pediatric health outcomes.
5. Determine when subspecialty referral is indicated and facilitate appropriate care coordination across healthcare settings.
