Overview
This one-day symposium designed for the primary care provider will tackle some of the concerns from the in-utero stage through early infancy. Our speakers will address health concerns, share cases, and offer guidelines on how to manage the patient. We are excited to present lectures on circumcision, penile abnormalities, genital variations, caring for the NICU graduate after discharge, genetic testing options in pregnancy, newborn screening, the fussy baby, late pre-term infants and car & sleep safety in the newborn period.

- Outline features of contemporary multidisciplinary care for patients with differences of sex development (DSD)/intersex conditions
- Detail anatomic criteria for newborn circumcision suitability
- Distinguish differences between newborn and operative circumcision procedures and timing
- Manage growth and nutrition in the early post-discharge period
- Identify and manage early developmental concerns
- Discuss genetic tests available in pregnancy
- Compare and contrast screening versus diagnostic testing options
- Describe classical presentation of inborn errors of metabolism
- Review the approach to metabolic newborn screening program in Illinois
