2020 Summer Series - Childhood Immunizations

The COVID-19 pandemic impacted how patients and families access health care services. Routine childhood immunizations is affected by these turbulent times. This educational course dives into childhood immunizations and vaccine-preventable illnesses and how community-based pediatric providers can ensure their patients stay current on the CDC’s vaccine schedule. As a result of this session, attendees will understand the scope of the problem of missed and delayed vaccinations due to COVID-19, catch-up doses on individual vaccines, pragmatic solutions to promote vaccination, and plans for the upcoming influenza season. This lecture is presented by Ravi Jhaveri, MD, Associate Division Head of Infectious Disease and Deanna Monroe, DO, community pediatrician at Children’s Healthcare Associates.
