The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted many facets of life, particularly the daily routine of children. This educational course is designed for community-based pediatric providers who are interested in guidance for families on talking to children after a traumatic event and how psychiatric disorders of prepubertal children present in the pediatric primary care setting. As a result of the session, attendees will be able to discuss the basic principles on coping with trauma and childhood onset conditions. The childhood onset conditions include autism spectrum disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and tics. This lecture is presented by John Walkup, MD and Irwin Benuck, MD, PhD.
