Pediatric Pearls Fall- Pulmonary Update

 

Overview

This full-day conference is designed for healthcare providers interested in the latest pediatric treatments related to several complex pediatric pulmonary diseases as as some of the more common dilemmas. For this installment, we present lectures on systic fibrosis, promary ciliary dyskinesia, sleep medicine, management of children on chronic vent support, pulmonary disease with muscular weakness, severe asthma, chronic clearance therapies and newborn guidelines for cystic fibrosis.

Objectives

  • Review updates in the diagnostic and therapeutic approach to cystic fibrosis
  • Discuss the symptomatic prfile of a patient with primary ciliary dyskinesia and review the pros and cons of various diagnostic approaches
  • Discuss the complex needs of children and adolescents who require chronic non-invasive and traditional vent support and changes/advances in support modalities
  • Offer support and management tips for the child with sleep apnea
  • Review sleep disordered breathing and its clinical implications and complications
  • Review the high-risk asthmsa population and tretment challenges and approaches to optimizing care
